Homebuyer Survey & Valuation - HSV
The Homebuyer Survey and Valuation is the industry standard residential survey designed to provide a fairly broad-brush and jargon-free tool to enable prospective purchasers to make an informed decision as to whether to proceed with the purchase of a property.
The HSV is suitable for most types and ages of property although if the property is very old or of an unusual or non-traditional construction type a Building Survey may be more suitable.
Overall, the HSV will provide you with a detailed and accurate report with plenty of description and a comprehensive round-up of your prospective purchase.
Most HSV surveys cannot carry out any tests on service installations such as water, gas, electrics or drainage as they are not qualified heating engineers, electricians, plumbers or drainage specialists. However, they can interpret any certificates provided by vendors and test stickers and advise you as best as we can as to whether further professional advice is needed.
